“I Bagni della Regina Giovanna” (The baths of Queen Joan) is one of the most beautiful beaches of Sorrento.  Due to its position, the beach is only reachable by foot and accordingly it is less crowded in respect to all the other beaches of Sorrento.  For this reason, it is not recommended for children.

In this area, there was once a majestic seaside villa of the Roman era from the first century BC.  Today, it is only possible to visit the ruins.

To reach the beach, you need to proceed along via Capo untilo you reach the piazzetta (little square) in which you find a service station and a bar-tobacconist.  From there, if you are traveling by car, you must park and proceed on foot.

Follow the declining street on which the buses are parked.  After around 50m, cross the gate and continue to descend for around 10minutes, until the path forks. On the right are the ruins of the villa romana, on the left, a trail of dirt.

In this area, it is possible to swim but if you wish to arrive at the nearby beach establishment, you must follow the dirt trail and cross a wooden bridge that leads to the establishment, La Solara.
