The Sorrento gastronomy consists of simple and delicious meals; the typical sun shined terraced-lands allow a varied and genuine agriculture that provides several products that the local community learned to use and work with them in an excellent way.
Most of the typical local meals are cooked using extra-virgin olive oil D.O.P. and the Gragnano pasta that keep totally traditional several main-course like pasta with shrimps and courgettes, or seafood linguine.
All the lemon and orange trees are a steady feature of the Sorrento Peninsula, indeed especially with the lemons the local gastronomy has created several tasty and among those the famous 'Limoncello', this is the most local liqueur all around the world.
Not forgetting the Sorrento peninsula is as well known as Naples for its pizza, in particular the village of Vico Equense is renowned to be the foundation-house of the meter pizza.
