- 1 kg of local mussels
- Freshly grinded black pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Lemon (optional)
Preparation
This dish is typical of campana cuisine and easy to make. The only difficulty is cleaning the mussels.
Once clean, place the mussels in a high sided casserole dish together with a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and two whole cloves of garlic.
Cover the pan and leave to cook on a high flame. During the cooking process, the mussels are mixed in a special way. You must take the pan by its handles and whilst keeping the lid on, shake the pan up and down.
As soon as the mussels are opened, sprinkle with plenty of black pepper. You can accompany the mussels with a wedge of lemon.
