Caprese salad recipe

Serves 4 persons

  • ½ kg of fior di latte
  • ½ kg of ox heart tomatoes which not overly ripe
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of oregano
  • 2 or 3 bunches of fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper as required

Preparation

Wash the tomatoes well, removing the green stem. Cut the tomato in slices of around 1 cm thickness.

At the same time, slice the mozzarella in slices of about 1 cm thickness. Place the slices of tomato on a serving plate, alternating it with pieces of mozzarella.

At this point, dress the salad with salt, pepper, a tablespoon of oregano and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Garnish with the basil and serve.

You can accompany this salad with toasted bread crostini served with cold white wine from the campano region.
